According to a brochure edited by the Italian Labor Union, all children under 18 years old living in Italy have the right to go to a school, regardless their legal situation. The registrations may also be made at any moment of the school year, the Labor Force Migration Office informs.

The registration does not make the staying in Italy legal, on one hand, but schools don't have to report the situation to any authority, on the other.

Children need their identity documents and the health status documents (vaccines against polio, hepatitis and others).
