The American anti missile defensive system to be installed in several European countries would only “partially” protect the Romanian territory.

According to the Czech ambassador to NATO, the system to be hosted in Poland and the Czech Republic will protect Italy, Spain and Portugal, but not Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria and Eastern Romania.

According to another NATO official, these countries - all vulnerable and potential subject to attacks coming from the Middle East, may be protected just as well by a complementary system, designed to protect troops in the battle field.
