Sweden is the last state of the European Union which denies the access of Romanian citizens on its territory using only the identity card. The reason invoked is that the ID form released by Romanian authorities doesn't purposefully mention the citizenship of the owner.

The ID issue will be discussed next month, during the EU Justice and Interior Affairs reunion in Luxembourg.

The Romanian Administration and Interior Ministry continues its applications to persuade the Swedish officials to apply the European Parliament's resolution that allows Romanian citizens to travel freely in all EU countries using only their ID cards.
