Romania and Bulgaria will not host US made anti rocket shield facilities, even though Russia would rather have the defense systems in Poland and the Czech Republic relocated in the Southern Europe.

The American officials excluded the possibility to install in Romania the anti rocked shield, part of a defense program launched in 2004 as countermeasure against Iran and North Korea.

The United States claim that there are no enlargement plans for the program, except for those already negotiated in Warsaw and Prague.

In the same context, Washington officials responded the several accuses coming from Moscow: "Russia is not a target and the Russians know it", said the deputy secretary on European Affairs, Daniel Fried.

“The United States salute Russia's return as a positive force in the world, in case this return means that Russia will play a constructive role in the nuclear ambitions of the North Korea, Iran, in Kosovo, in the war against terrorism", said Fried.
