The Romanian Hydrology Institute issued two warnings about rising river flows and flood risks along several rivers in Western and South Western Romania on Monday. The warings come as rain falls intensified in the region over the past several days and warm weather are melting snow along the rivers.

A code yellow warning affects riverside areas in the counties of Maramures, Satu Mare, Salaj, Bistrita Nasaud, Bihor, Cluj, Arad, Alba, Timis, Caras Severin, Mehedinti, Gorj and Dolj.

And a more serious code orange warning was issued for riverside areas in the Crisul Alb and Timis basins in Western Romania.
