Mobile telephony operator Orange Romania had and overall income in 2006 of 1.083 billion euros, 25.6% more than in 2005, according to the company preliminary data. The client portfolio grew 18% during 2006, reaching a total of 8.043 million users.
At the end of 2006, Orange had 383,000 EDGE and 3G technology users.
The operator invested since its launch in 1997 over 1.2 billion euros, mainly in 3G and EDGE development, as well as in the distribution network.
The main competitor, Vodafone, announced that its client portfolio is now 7.71 million users.
