Five geese were found dead in Hungary, with a first (unconfirmed) diagnosis of bird flu, an official in the Agriculture Ministry declared, as quoted by Reuters.

The birds were found at a farm in the south-east of the Csongrad county, where 40 geese were found sick, out of which some already died.

The dead bird are currently undergoing bird flu tests in Budapest. The first diagnosis came from the local veterinarians. Authorities established a protection area around the farm and issued an international warning to whom it may concern.

During the last bird flu epidemic, in 2006, Hungary lost over one million birds.
