The members of the Supreme Judges' Council elected the new board, after the one-year mandate of the former members expired. The new president, elected with a large majority of votes, is Anton Pandrea, while the new vice president (13 votes for, 4 against) is Dan Chiujdea.

The new president revised a series of problems the Justice system faces, mainly the one referring to the human resources for the Public Ministry.

Anton Pandrea is the president of the Penal Department in the Supreme Court and was names as judge for life in the High Court of Justice and Causation a few years ago.

Dan Chiujdea is the youngest SJC vice president and also holds the chair as president of the Prosecutors' Discipline Commission.
