Romanian car maker Dacia managed the best results in its history in 2006 with almost 200,000 cars sold and an average of 500 units/day. A company press release says sales reached 196,708 units last year, only 12,750 of which were build in Morocco and the rest in Romania.

Dacia Logan, a Renault brand, also reported a series of major events last year. It launched new series, introduced a fourth engine version (1.6 16v) and launched its Logan MCV with 5-7 seats. That helped it boost sales by 8.8% on the Romanian market alone, compared to 2005.

Logan MCV sold over 3,600 units on the Romanian market in only two months since its official launch.

Elsewhere, Dacia sold most cars in France (18,742 units), followed by Algeria, Turkey, Spain and Germany.
