The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management-INHGA in Bucharest has announced that Romania will face high flood risks in spring 2007 as the dry season of late 2006 comes to an end and makes way for snow falls in the coming period.

The INHGA expects the rivers of Banat and Crisana in Western Romania may swell and lead to floods in April next year. And according to INHGA head Petre Stanciu it is possible that the flood risk remains in place in many parts of the country until summer next year.
