Prime minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu declared on Wednesday that he was really disturbed by the statements made by president Basescu during the ceremony in which the new Economy Minister, Varujan Vosganian, sworn in.

PM Tariceanu considers Basescu’s statements as unacceptable, able to raise questions on the way the ministerial mandate will be fulfilled.

“The Parliament approved in vote the naming of Varujan Vosganian. I’m not aware of any constitutional frame allowing any other institution, be it the Presidency itself, to express such comments”, said Tariceanu, after Traian Basescu said he’s not a big fan of the idea of having Vosganian as Economy Minister.

Basescu also admitted to consider that transferring the Privatization Office from the Economy Ministry authority under the one of the State Assets Agency is also a move probably designed “to maintain a certain level in the lack of transparency”.
