The Appeal Court in Bucharest decided after marathon hearings to arrest for 20 days the ministry employees Mihai Donciu and Dorinel Mucea (Economy and IT Ministry, respectively), both charged with treason through unveiling state secrets.
Also a 20 days arrest warrant was decided for the international consultants Stamen Stantchev and Vadim Benyatov Don, both accused of espionage in strategic privatizations.
Except for Benyatov, all three are about to file an appeal. Despite the fact that lawyers claim the arrest is abusive, since no new evidence appeared between their interdiction to leave town, investigators say new fact were revealed after the home and office searches.
