The oil company Petrom will invest over 70 million euros in order to build a new gas processing unit in Midia, designed to treat the gas extracted in seas operations. The engineering, acquisition and construction operations were attributed to Linde Group.

The 70 million euros investment is part of the 1,5 billion euros worth investment program the company has scheduled until 2010, said Werner Ladwein, member in the Petrom Executive Committee.

The gasoline production at Petrom is expected to increase more than three times after the new facility comes into production, from 100 to 350 tons per day. The gas processing capacity will also grow from 1.5 million cubic meter per day to 3.8 millions.
