Valeriu Stoica, former president of the Liberals, was the last dissident to be expelled from the party yesterday. It is the second former president and the fourth major dissident expelled this month in a final effort of the Standing Committee to get rid of all the opposition within.,

Liberals accused Stoica of repeatedly attacking the Liberal Prime Minister, Calin Popescu Tariceanu.

Valeriu Stoica only said that it is beyond his understanding how Liberals chose to expel those who follow the party’s interests and not those who sponsored other parties during the electoral campaign.

Stoica also claims that the Liberal leaders put pressure on their colleagues to expel him. “The were several phone threats made”, declared Stoica in a TV interview.
