The Romanian Parliament commissions overviewing the activities of the main intelligence services in the country have requested access to protocol funds to cover spendings during the visit to Bucharest of representatives of a European Parliament commission investigating alleged CIA illegal activities in Europe. Part of the money will be spent on “symbolic gifts” for EP investigators.

The head of the commission overviewing the activity of Romania’s Foreign Intelligence Service, Romeo Raicu, told HotNews.ro that the EP delegation will receive common gifts as part of the official protocol.

Romanian Parliament representatives failed to evaluate the total money that may be needed for the Tuesday visit of EP officials, including the gifts. Other costs will cover protocol consumption and translator services.
