US company Delta Airlines announced in Atlanta on Thursday that starting June 5, 2007 it would operate regular flights between New York and Bucharest. Romanian airline company Tarom had decided in 2003 to suspend its flights to New York, arguing that they brought losses of about 10-15 million euro.

Delta Airlines offers flights to 461 destinations in 96 countries. Its fleet is formed of 638 planes, 389 of which are owned by the company and the rest are rented.
