Nigerian officials have announced that five workers, including one Romanian, were kidnapped from an oil rig in the south of the country on Tuesday night, BBC reports. Three workers are British and another is Indonesian.

Romanian Ambassador to Nigeria, Emil Rapcea, told Romanian TV station Antena 3 that he was informed of the attack but that the names of the workers were yet to be made public.

According to BBC, the five have gone missing near the headquarters of the Exxon Mobile HQ in Eket. Some sources say two of the Exxon security agents have been killed in the kidnapping operation.
