The two Romanians tried to climb the Nanga Parpat peak but were caught in a storm. Their fellow climbers remained in a camp at an altitude of 3,500 m and tried vainly to contact the two.

Two days ago, the Romanain climbers told in their last contact with the camp that temperatures were down to -30 degrees Celsius where they were and that they only had food and oxygen for five days.

The Romanian team left for the Hymalayas a month ago targeting the Nanga Parpat peak (8125 m).
