More than 220 Romanian citizens are to return home from Lebanon with three planes on Thursday night. The Romanians crossed the Lebanese border to Syria and are now safe, a press release by the Romanian presidency informs.

Three children could not make it in time to the Romanian Embassy in Beirut but the authorities will send to Bucharest. Other three persons were directed to Larnaca, while 30 citizens crossed the border individually and headed to Aleppo airport from where a plane will take them home to Romania.

The number of repatriated Romanians amounts to 740.

In Beirut and Damasc the Romanian authorities help compatriots to return home safely.
