Hyundai Auto Romania sold 3300 cars in the first six months of the year, up 96% in compared to the same period of 2005. The company explains the sales’ increase due to the new Hyundai models sold in Romania.

The New Accent emerged on the Romanian market in February and already sold 1900 cars, up 182% compared to the Hyundai sales in first semester 2005. The new Santa Fe and new Tucson also registered record sales of 222.8% and 24.1% more, respectively.

The New Accent is the first car sold with no customs tax.

The company holds 35% of the big vehicles market share. The new Hyundai Santa Fe won the prize “best 4x4 SUV 2006” and was best sold in Romania, with 225 sold cars.

Hyundai Auto Romania has doubled sales in the last three years and holds 3% of the import cars market share.
