The Foreign Ministry in Bucharest recommends Romanian travellers to avoid trips to Lebanon following the recent outbreak of military confrontations there. The Ministry also recommends Romanians to avoid travels to Northern Israel, West Bank and the Gaza Strip, while paying supplementary caution if they go to Syria, especially in the Syrian territories close to the border with Lebanon.

The warning came on Friday shortly after over 80 rockets fired from lebanon hit Haifa and other targets in Northern israel - the most serious such attack in ten years. In retaliation, Israel bombed fuel deposits on the Beirut Airport and the highway linking Beirut to Damascus, the Syrian capital.
