Vodafone Romania announced on Wednesday it had established the Vodafone Foundation Romania, as a Romanian non-governmental organization with charitable status and distinct activities from the commercial operations of the company, a Vodafone press release says. The Foundation expects to invest over 700,000 euro in charitable operations this year.
The mission of the Foundation is to improve the living conditions of people in need, especially children and disadvantaged elderly persons, through programs supporting local communities, the release says.
It explains that the activities of the Foundation are funded through annual doinations from Vodafone Romania employees, the value of which will be doubled by the company and complemented by annual donations from the Vodafone Group Foundation.
