Continental AG has announced the consolidation of its investments in the Western Romanian city of Timisoara,. aimed at exploiting the development potential of the tyre market in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Five years after opening the most modern tyre factory in Europe, in Timisoara, work started at a new distribution center in the same city last week, to serve markets in the region.
The distribution center is a 5 million europ investment from Continental AG in partnership with Dietrich Honold Logistik and Honold Logistik. The center will circulate some 14,000 tyres daily.
It is expected that some 30,000 tons of tyre will be distributed annually in countries such as Bulgaria, Ukraine, Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia, Romania and Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kirgistan.
