The National Assembly, the lower chamber of the French Parliament, debates on Tuesday the accession treaty of Romania and Bulgaria to the EU. Romanian EU Integration minister Anca Boagiu attends the debate, which takes place in the last lap of the current parliamentary session in France.

The French Government has already adopted the draft legislation for the ratification of the Treaty and sent the document to the offices of the two chambers of the Parliament. The move was followed by a working visit by minister Boagiu to France to showcase the current phase of Romanian preparations for EU accession.

Twenty EU member states have ratified the treaty so far.
