Twelve people have died and three were still missing on Sunday after a series of storms struck many regions across Romania last week. The latest toll published by the Interior Ministry in Bucharest shows the most affected regions were the counties of Bistrita-Nasaud and Maramures in Northern Romania.

Ten of the victims were reported in Bistrita Nasaud, one in the county of Arad and one in Maramures.

The number of evacuees from villages affected by floods and landslides fell considerably over the weekend, when only 127 people were reported displaced by Sunday. 93 of them were in the county of Bistrita Nasaud and 34 in Galati, Eastern Romania.
