Torrential rain continued to wreak havoc in Northern Romania in the past 24 hours after dozens of towns and villages in the region were seriously affected by floods and landslides over the weekend. The new wave of natural troubles affected the counties of Harghita and Suceava.

According to the latest reports, in the county of Harghita alone some 100 households in several villages were hit by floods, while traffic on a national road in the South Carpathians was halted due to mudslides.

And in Suceava some 50 houses and household facilities in half a dozen villages were damaged by the swollen waters of a local creek.

Traffic on European Road 576 linking the cities of Suceava and Vatra Dornei has been perturbed due to a thick layer of mud.
