The World Bank may provide loans totalling 450-550 million US dollars yearly in 2006-2009 according to the new Country Partnership Strategy debated by the WB management in Washington on Tuesday, a WB press release published on Wednesday says.

The World Bank warns that despite the economic growth reported over the past several years, Romania should make major efforts to continue structural reforms and fight poverty.

The Strategy stays at the foundation of the WB operations in Romania and establishes the details of the WB support for the country in reaching its sustainable economic growth targets and improving the living conditions in the framework of plans to join the European Union.
