The Romanian National Bank – BNR reported financial losses of 3.06 billion lei in 2005, according to data BNR presented on Thursday. According to the documentation, the bank reported rate-related net losses of over 828 million lei, with rate incomes of more than 1.68 billion lei and payments of more than 2.51 billion lei.

The bank said the losses would be covered from special revaluation account, statutory reserves and future profits.

And it said comparisons to the previous year have little relevance as accounting policies in 2005 were different from those of 2004.
