The son of a former Chief of Staff of the Romanian army and two other persons were sent to court on traffic of influence and complicity on Tuesday, the National Anti-Corruption Department – DNA has announced.

According to prosecutors, Mircea Chelaru and the other two claimed and received money and goods from a police agent in October 2005 by insinuating they have influence on to top police officials so that the man can obtain a job transfer from one police institution to another.

The case will be judged by the Bucharest Tribunal.
