A former governmental counsellor filed a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office against former PM Adrian Nastase who had received a 1 billion lei bribe in exchange of a governmental post. The news channel Realitatea TV managed to obtain the declaration submitted by former counsellor Fanel Pavalache to the General Prosecutor’s Office.
Fanel Pavalache said he also gave Nastase paintings, statues and art collection objects.
The intermediate between Pavalache and Nastase was the then General Secretary of the Government Serban Mihalache. In September 2000, Pavalache brought a bag full of money to the Parliament office of Nastase.
Following this declaration, Pavalache requested to be introduced in a protection witness program.
