Romanian prime ministger Calin Popescu Tariceanu withdrew some 480,000 USD from his various accounts to establish and decorate a vacation lodge and various other spendings over the past year, his office said in a press release on Friday, in reply to a media report on how his accounts shrank over the last several months 12 months.

According to the press release, the money was used to decorate and set utilities to a house he built four years ago in a village close to Snagov, a high-life spot north of Bucharest. The release also mentions a 1 billion ROL (some 30,000 USD) loan to relatives.
