Romanian PM Calin Popescu Tariceanu called for a meeting with members of parliamentary parties, civil society, mass media, academic environment and social partners to consult on Romania’s absorption capacity of European funds in the perspective of the accession to EU.

Following the May report released by the European Commission, the Romanian PM announced plans of organising such reunion in order to present some of his proposals for increasing the absorption capacity.

European officials have requested valid projects to be financed by EC money, in the light of Romania’s accession to the EU when the local authorities will have to spend 9 million euros/day for two years.
