The Spanish car pieces maker Manufactura Moderna de Metales/Barcelona (MMM) is to invest 5 billion Euros in a Greenfield plant in the central Romanian city of Turda, county of Cluj, according to a press release by the Romanian Agency for Foreign Investments (ARIS).

The company produces metal tubes for car engines, car breaks and air conditioned systems. MMM Autoparts SRL will create 250 jobs starting Q1 of 2007. The plant will cover 2.7 ha and the first office building will have a 5,000 sq m surface.

MMM is a Spanish producer and distributor with the headquarters in Barcelona, with famous customers such as Audi, BMW, Citroen, Honda, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Seat, Volkswagen. The 20065 turnover is expected to reach 30 mln Euros. The Romanian plant is the first step taken abroad.
