Lab tests have confirmed 18 bird flu hotbeds in several places across the country, while the number of the total suspected hotbeds stays at 23 until the rest of results return from Britain, Agriculture Minister Gheorghe Flutur announced late on Thursday. The poultry meat from Codlea (Brasov county) has been withdrawn from the market.
Most of the confirmed cases are in the county of Brasov, Central Romania.
The national veterninary authority ANSV announced on Wendesday that all towns and villages where the bird flu was confirmed have been placed in quarantine.
