Romanian President Traian Basescu was feeling well on Wednesday after the hernia surgery he underwent late on Monday and doctors at the Austrian clinic where he is hospitalized are hopeful about his recovery progress, presidential aide Adriana Saftoiu announced today.

According to the Austrian team of doctors who keep Basescu under observation, the Romanian head of state is feeling well, stopped claiming pains and is overall optimistic about his condition.

They said they believed the President would be able to walk within a couple of days despite the difficulties of the „very large hernia" surgery.
