The oil price went up 1 percent on Monday, to 72 U.S. $ /barrel, following a fire burst in an Italian refinery on Sunday that led to the stop of a 160,000 barrel/day production, according to Reuters. The Impianti Nord Refinery of Sicily was shut down due to the fire.

Starting today, oil price at Romanian gas stations recorded a climb as well, following Petrom oil company’s decision to increase prices of the petrol and diesel, based on the fact that oil price went up to record levels on the international market.

The price hike diminished the drop of 4.4 percent last week, from the record level of 75.35 US $/ barrel, when dealers sold for profit.

Analysts say that the risks entailed by the Iranian nuclear program and the violence in Nigeria maintain the oil price at a high level.
