Romanian president Traian Basescu expressed his condolences for the death of Corporal Bogdan Hancu in the terrorist attack in Iraq on Thursday morning and assured the family of his support. The American ambassador to Bucharest Nicholas Taubman also expressed his deepest sorrow for the death of the Romanian soldier and sent a condolences letter to his family.
The Defense Ministry showed support for the family of Bogdan Hancu and promoted the Corporal to lieutenant rank post-mortem. The Ministry expressed regret for the loss of human lives suffered by the Italian partners.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the terrorist attack in Iraq on Thursday morning and expressed its deep condolences and full solidarity with the family of the Romanian soldier.
