Almost 16, 000 persons have been evacuated from the areas affected by the Danube flooding and relocated in schools, tents, and other facilities fit for human habitation, according to the last report presented on Thursday by the Romanian Ministry of Interior.

The persons come from the counties of Dolj– 9,414, Calarasi– 5050, Tulcea – 786, Constanta -410, Braila- 103, Mehedinti- 38, Caras-Severin- 19, Ialomita- 10 and Olt- 4.152 townships in 12 coutnies have been severely affected, 326 houses damaged, 1774 houses flooded, and 4532 household facilites under water. 129 households are at risk of collapsing.

21,000 ha of agricultural land have been affected by controlled flooding, more than 400 km of roads have been damaged.
