Romanian capital Buchares is one of the dustiest in Europe as the quantity of dust per square kilometer reached 280 tons, compared to other capital where the figure stands at 20 tons per square kilometer, according to the Environment Experts Association. Bucharest has cut its green areas by three times in the last 16 years.

According to Florin Vasiliu, deputy president of the Association, Romania has only 13 million square meters of green area today, compared to 35 million in 1989. The national average of green areas in urban Romania stands at 25%, compared to 33% in Europe.
