A Romanian teenager was hospitalized on Wednesday after he was hit by a falling tree in Bucharest. It is the second such case in Bucharest after another young man was killed under a tree, also in Bucharest.

The 17-year old boy recovered from shock but doctors at the Sf. Pantelimon Hospital in the Romanian capital said he would remain under medical care for another several days as he has suffered a grade II head trauma.

Liviu Negoita, the mayor of Bucharest District 3 where the incident occurred, said he regretted the accident but he blamed all fault on the owner of a parking lot in the area, who is believed to have poored gasoline at the roots of the tree.

Wind and rain intensified in Bucharest starting Tuesday and continued for much of the day on Wednesday.
