Romania comes 27th among the biggest 30 worldwide importers of goods, according to a new World Trade organization report. According to the document, the value of goods imported by Romania has exceeded 40 billion USD last year, 24% more than in 2004.

Romania has thus exceeded the average pace of growth worldwide, set at 15%.

The total volume of imports in the world exceeded 8,000 billion USD, 0.5% of which is covered by Romania.

Romania is not listed among the top 30 exporters in the world.

The United States come as the top importer in the world with over 1,732 billion USD, followed by China with 660 billion USD and Japan with 516 billion USD, the report says.
