Romanian tennis player Victor Hanescu won the River Oaks International tourney on Sunday in a three-hour final match against Argentine Juan Monaco, 6-7 (1), 6-4, 7-5, according to Houston Chronicle.

Monaco (22), the runner up of the competition, won though the 72nd River Oaks International doubles championship with Peru's Luis Horna on Saturday night.

Hanescu gained $50,000 by winning this tourney. He will return to Bucharest for a few days, and will head towards Monte Carlo for the year's first Masters Series tournament on clay.

Hanescu is ranked 47th on the ATP computer.
