Romanian natural gas delivery company Distrigaz Nord changed its name to E.ON Gaz Romania starting April 1. The company will invest 160 bln lei in new equipment this year, more than 50 percent of which is to be used at replacing 350 km of pipeline.

The modernisation and enlargement process will be carried out through 19, and 17 projects respectively, that amount 87 mln Euros.

In October 2004, Romanian authorities signed the privatization contract with the German company E.ON, for 303 mln Euros. The privatization process concluded in June 2005.
