A top fiscal authority warned Romanian football clubs to pay their dues to the state budget, claiming they failed to do so despite repeated requests in this regard and were threatened they would have their assets blocked.

Sebastian Bodu, head of the National Agency for Fiscal Administration – ANAF, said the only Romanian football club with no debts to the state budget is CFR Cluj. He was quoted by Realitatea TV saying that most clubs, including top ones such as the Bucharest-based Dinamo, Steaua and Rapid risk "a forced recovery of debts sooner or later".
