Prosecutors grilled Romanian businessman Marian Iancu on Monday in the same case involving controversial businessman Ovidiu Tender, that allegedly brought a prejudice of 2,700 bln ROL to Romanian state.

Iancu, together with other nine persons, were charged in august 2005 with illegal commercial operations worth at more than 1100 bln ROL, involving the group VGB – RAFO Refinery- Tender S.A – Carom S.A.

In the Rafo case, Iancu is charged with complicity to fraud, money laundering, and organizing a criminal group.

Marian Iancu is the chairman of Balkan Petroleum (BkP) and owner of the football club Poli Timisoara.
