Romanian oil company Petrom announced a capital boost of 64.3 million RON, (18.3 million euro), up to 5.66 billion RON, according to an informative note addressed to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

The move was decided at a shareholders’ meeting late last year and includes an issue of 655.3 million shares.

About half of the stock went to the Economy Ministry, which controls 40.7% of the Petrom capital, covering the value of land owned by the company.

OMV has subscribed 334.2 million shares for which it paid 91. million euro, as its participation in Petrom rises to 51.011%.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development controls 13.2 million shares a maximum allowed to maintain its 2.026% participation in Petrom.
