Some 37 senators challenged the Health package reform to the Constitutional Court (CC) on Thursday, following the confidence vote granted by the Parliament to the Government in a motion filed by the opposition parties earlier this week.

The Government assumed responsabilty in the Parliament for the 17 laws and won a confidence vote against the opposition’s motion filed by the Social Democratic and Great Romania parties on February 20.

The challenge at the Constitutional Court blocks the promulgation of the laws by the Romanian president, pending a decision to be taken by the CC judges on March 15.
