The Romanian Authority for the Valorization of State Assets (AVAS) announced Thursday it would open privatization procedures for five big state-owned companies, including Antibiotice Iasi and Rulmentul Brasov.

Pharmaceutical company Antibiotice Iasi, with a capital of 454.89 million lei, is held 53.017% by AVAS. Mechanical parts producer Rulmentul Brasov is held 50.892% by the Authority.

The three other companies are Agromes Buzias, Fortisim Voluntari and Transport Utilaj Constructii. AVAS holds less than 50% in each of the three.

Investors may submit their statements of interest at AVAS.
