Greek financial group Piraeus Bank registered a 107% growth of its net profit in 2005, from 127.3 million euro in 2004 to 263.8 million, a bank press release says. According to BP data, its banking network rose by 9.6% in Greece and by 193.3% in other countries, including Romania.

By the end of 2005, the bank assets exceeded 23.5 billion euro, up 40% from 2004.

In 2000, Piraeus Bank entered the Romanian market and started to rise to a current network of 30 offices. It has established a real estate investment fund in January 2006, with a capital of 40 million euro aimed at SE European markets.
