2006 will be the year of construction works for Romania and especially for Bucharest, according to a CB Richard Ellis study. It says the market will react to the current lack of alternatives for the acquisition of a flat or house and and to the need of lower prices for lower-income people.

The study expects new residential areas, much more attractive than the current, communist-style blocks of flats, will appear in areas that have drawn less attention in Bucharest so far, such as the quarters of Dristor, Militari, Berceni and Colentina.

Facility management firms will appear to replace the current block management system. These firms would have a larger capacity to provide security, cleaning, green area and house maintenance.
